Never stop searching... and finish your Noodletools project

The Google Zeitgeist 2012: Year in Review has been released, and Mrs. Morell so loves it that she needs to share it with you...



Some of the images are on the screen for such a short amount of time that you may need to watch it a few times to see what you remember from the year...

Next, I would like you to finish your Noodletools project.  we will give you a rubric for you to see what you need to complete of your notecards.

Noodletools

We're not sure you all have had the chance to use Noodletools, so we wanted you to do a quick research project to practice using this wonderful research tool.

Each one of you will choose the name of a North African or Middle Eastern country from the selection of books Mrs. Bland has collected.

You will need open Noodletools: http://www.noodletools.com/

Either login using your existing account, or we'll walk you through setting up an account.

You will then need to create a new project.  Please title it the name of your country.

Then share the project with your teachers - "7th Grade Country Project"

We would like you to create a notecard, then try to answer as many of the following questions from the list below from your book.

Then, try to answer any remaining questions from one of the online Encyclopedias from the library webpage.

Then, use one of the following websites to answer any remaining questions.

Try to answer some of the questions from each of the resources, because we would like you to create a three-item bibliography - one book, one online encyclopedia, and one website.

Please focus and try to get it done today, or else it will be homework, due before next class.

If you are finished with your Prezi, you may make a choice from the following menu:

• Work on your Math skils using Mathletics
• Build your vocabulary using FreeRice
• Try to name all the countries of the world on Sporcle (but only this challenge)
• Or catch up on current events by exploring the New York Times Learning blog. (and wow your family at the dinner table with your new knowledge)

No you may not play CoolMath4Kids this week :)

Today, we'd like to introduce you to a new online presentation tool, called Prezi.  I used Prezi for the presentation on Digital Citizenship last week.  Eventually, Prezi will be one of the options for a Digital Citzenship project.
